Serve with Pudina (mint) chutney or tamarind chutney MTR was started by the Maiya family in 1924 in Bangalore, India. MTR today is under the ownership of Norwegian Company M/s Orkla, who took over in 2007. The varied range of products include ready-to-eat curries and rice, ready-to-eat cook gravies, frozen food, ice-cream, instant mixes, etc. They are known for their age old recipes and highest quality and hygiene.
How to cook
Mix 1 measure of MTR Dhokla mix with 3 tbsp cooking oil, 1/4 measure curd and 1 measure water to form a smooth batter.
Grease 2 baking trays /plates with a little oil and pour equal quantities of batter into each (so as to obtain required thickness and proper puffing of the dhoklas).
On this poured batter, sprinkle Cumin powder and Red chilli powder or Black pepper powder.
Steam the batter on high flame for about 15 minutes.
Use microwave oven and steam the batter for 6 minutes using a microwave safe vessel.
Cut into cubes and serve.
